I usually dont like to buy cheap tools, but the other day I was in Tupelo looking at a small welding job when I saw the next building was a Harbor Frieght. I saw a holesaw /tubing notcher that looked pretty good. I ahd a job comming up soon and needed alot of pipe notched to make make a set of tables in a friend grean house as well as in my own green house. I tol my wife I thought about buying one but didnt want to waist the money on right now for a small job. I wante a Joint Jigger but the 180 dollars right now I couldnt justify. Well Chrismas morning I woke up and Amy was dragging me to the tree. She had gotten me the HF notcher. I tried it out with my hole saws and it does great. the first cut favored one side a bit si I added some 1/8 washers and it straightened it right out. Im about to finisht my green house and the tables Ill post a few pics this comming week. It makes a super nice joint to all you have to do is drag the rod and it makes a nice looking seam. Now I need to finsh my bed shaper and my row mulcher.

Use lots of cutting fluid as you're notching, you won't believe how long the hole saws last. I built my entire rollcage in my rock crawler with one blade.

I do alot of tube notching working on race cars. The best hole saws I have found are Morse. Trick Tools sells them on ebay. They are a fine cut saw(more teeth).

Thats a great looking notcher ya got there, I had started building mine but My lathe went down I gotta get the 15 hp motor redone. I had the bearing block already Casted and had trouble with it in my Hunk "O"Crap grizzly mill. Thats a good name for it l any thing I do with it looks grizzly lol. I have a big Lehmann Lathe with a 20 inch swing. I mounted the flycutter in it and mounted it to the compund and fed it across. Then my bearing went out in the motor.
The landfill we run used to belong to Belmont homes a Mobile home plant on inventory day we got several Morse cutters. I agree they seem to hold up the best.
Amy even goes to the scrap yard with me to help retreive stuff
