Turbo on a 1040

Hi, Im thinking about installing a turbo on my John Deere 1040. Has any done this? Will the engine handle a wee bit of boost? Mounting it etc shouldnt be an issue, but not sure on the fuel injecters and pump. Any ideas?

I put one on my Ford 1720 and I work it!
Very happy with the results.
No need for injectors, just turn the pump up a bit.

What was the turbo off? Much increase in proformance? Got any pics?

It is a waste gated Garrett GT1752 off a Saab.
Huge increase in HP. Originally 27 HP now 35 to 40 based on how it blows snow and hauls a 6000lb trailer of hardwood.
I posted photos in the review section at the top of page in the Ford 1720 section.
It'll get your boat to the beach!!!

I like alot. Would your motor be 1.5 to 2 itres in size? Installation looks clean

Its 1.5 liters. I turned the fuel rate up & set the top speed to 2900rpm. I also wired the waste gate closed.
I run a max of 10 psi boost (intermittent) 5lbs steady state.
The GT 1752 is ideal because the compressor & exhaust turbine housings are clock able, so you can turn them for alignment.
This is one of the best mods I ever did. The tractor was perfect in every respect except for power, now it performs the way I want it to.

How 'bout some pictures of that 1720? I would concider puting a turbo on my jd 3005 when the warrentee runs out. I wonder if the internals of the yanmar motor can handle the boost... how has you ford handled the extra power? I put an aftermarket turbo on my chevy 6.2 n/a diesel years ago but put new headgaskets and head bolts at that time.
