Tires TURF TIRE ADVICE ON A NH TN70

Hi,
I'm new to this site and hoping someone out there can help me.

I want to put wide turf tires on a TN70 4x4.

I have been told by one dealer, that I can fit it with GALAXY 12LL x 16 front and 22.5L x 16.1 rear (rims need to be changed out)
They are only 6 ply tires and I may have have trouble loading or carrying pallets.

We need the wide turfs for sport fields, which is about 80% of our work.

Does anyone have suggestions as to: BRANDS, SIZES, PRICES, WEB LINKS ?

I agree with the Galaxy recomendation. They have a nice diamond shaped tread pattern and a rounded profille so that they turn easily and do considerably less turf damage than the typical square profile of turf tires on smaller tractors. BTW I'm running Galaxy R1's on my 2120 that I picked up at there headquarters in Malden Mass. There 8 ply and I've been very happy with them. I would call them and ask for a tire recommendation. If I went with turfs on my TN75D they would be Galaxy's. Galaxy's are what New Holland puts on new TN's.

Thanks for the info!

I saw a photo of the tires on a TN70. Does the 'L' stand for Low profile? And will those tires make the tractor low and sqatty? Also, how will the fronts handle a full bucket of material?

I also want to be able to do field construction--which will involve pulling a grading box in loose dirt. How do you think traction will be with those tires? And would there be a slightly more aggressive tire the wouldn't trash the turf?

I don't know. I do know that the Galaxies are the gentlest tires I know of. They put a lot of surface on the ground so I suspect you would have enough traction for the grading you describe. As far as loader work I suspect they would be fine but I would call Galaxy in Malden Mass to check. They are definatly somewhat lower than AG or Industrial tires but they are in a whole different league turf wise, By far the best in my opinion. 6ply is plenty also for your application.
