Turn which way?

Any one ever have to rewire their turn signals? Mine on my 2910 work the opposite of what they should. When I turn on the left turn signal the right one flashes. The in dash indicator flashes correctly. What is the trick to remove the plastic cover under the strreing wheel?

Oh boy, Harold. I hate that job because I always worry about breaking those little tabs that hold things together when you have to pry them loose. You can pry out the "easy checker" or instrument panel. If you need to take the plastic cover loose, there's one big screw, top center (behind the fuel cap), then 2 tabs to pry loose on each side. Then you can't raise it enough to get in there without punching the roll pin out of the throttle lever to remove the lever. If it's still in warranty, I'd have the dealer do it; however, I had to take mine loose to get into there and change the cigarette lighter I had the dealer install when I bought the tractor because, like a dummy, I washed the tractor, got water in the cigarette lighter, and let it corrode.

You might be able to swap the wires under the rear fender where they attach to the lights. There are barrel connectors. I don't know if the wire lengths make them interchangable or not.

I would think that most, if not all, B2910s would still be under warranty. If this is true for yours then I believe that I would have the Kubota shop fix the problem. This way you don't risk tearing up something else and voiding part of the warranty.

I thought they were only flashers. Do you actually use turn signals on your tractor? I know in California we are often criticized for not using turn signals and in this case I would be guilty. When driving on public roads, flashers and hand signals are all you get out here. Its pretty rare that tractors pass cars unless you have a mighty TC18 of course. Rat...

I'm with you, Rat. All I have on my L3600 is my right and left arms which I proudly stick out when I'm going to turn. Not the best system but it does avoid all those tedious wiring problems!

Rat & Tony, believe it or not, I really do use the turn signals on my B2710, and fortunately, mine work right.

That's certainly true if the dealer is accessible. I personally find that by the time I drag my tractor to the dealer (and they are only 5 miles away) and go through the motions, I can fix it faster myself if it's something small.

With a smaller tractor, what do you need the turn signals for? Do you drive down the road with it? Cliff

Yep, Cliff, I wouldn't have any use for the turn signals if I didn't drive it on the road occasionally. But when I get out on the farm-to-market roads around here to go to neighbors' or my brother's place, I turn on the headlights and flashers (and of course I have the SMV placard on the tractor). With the flashers on, turning on a turn signal causes the opposite light to stay on steady and the turning direction to flash.

Of course, there is admittedly so little traffic out here that if the tractor didn't have turn signals, they probably wouldn't be missed.
