Has anybody ever turned a flat deck trailer into a covered cargo trailer?
I've got a 7x14 enclosed cargo trailer that I don't use much these days, but use enough to justify owning it.
I also have a 16' tilting deck all steel equipment trailer i use often. I built 3' stake sides for to occasionally haul manure & stuff. It fits my tractor, bucket & 1 impliment well enough, but 2 implements means doing some iffy loading tricks (I only do that for 1-2 mile trips on back dirt roads).
I've been looking at some 20-22' tilting deck trailers & drooling. They seem to run $5-6k or so & only exist new (been keeping an eye on CL for a year or so now) which is out of my budget for a while.
I've entertained the idea of selling off both my trailers & getting a new 22'. Then maybe creating some 6' tall solid stake sides & a roof for it I could put on when needed. I might even be able to set it up so it could still tilt with the enclosure on, although thats not a requirement.
Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts? Suggestions?
