turning wheels around for more stance?

On my TS354C i have been considering turning the wheels inside out for a wider track and more stability. My question is has anyone done that before? The way the wheels are dished it would make the stance considerably wider. The only problem i see is having to reverse the weights on the rear wheels alsn the rear it looks like i could just move the inner disc from the inside of the rim to the outside of the rim instead of swaping sides. Any suggestions or experiance is appreciated.

Check in your owner's manual. The one that came with my JM254s had a section devoted to adjusting rear wheel stance; four optional widths derived from various spoke and rim variations. The offset rims can bolt on either side of the spokes, and the spokes can be mounted convex or concave on the hub. Four combinations.

If you've got the standard one piece front rims though, I don't recommend you be tempted to reverse them - especially under a FEL. Wheel weights can be mounted inside or out, depending upon the configuration you choose.

If yuo dish the rears, make sure you keep tread facing forward.. that's why people swap sides.. etc.. ( poor mans 'power adjust /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

Hey Mike,

I wanted to flip, my front wheels around, to get a wider stance, but so many advised against it, that I didn't do it. Most said, that it just puts too much stress, over all on the Front End, so I didn't do it on my 224.

Mine does have the one piece front wheels so i believe I will just space the rears out and leave the fronts alone. Thanks for the help.
