I always KNEW these must exist SOMEWHERE;
The GB Line range - GB Line ploughs - Reversible disc plough GBL DPH - Gregoire Besson - worldwide SOIL WORKING EQUIPMENTS specialist

Not that I would privately import one, or go to great lengths to find same/similar Chinese, Indian, Mexican or USA produced unit - it was just satisfying to find that someone does actually make them.

I don't have the tools or skills to fab one from "scratch 'n scrap" (-:

I know, quoting your own post is a little weird, but just for reference...
I did the usual thing of looking for a U.S. distributor, just to see if I could price these and how the price might be for an implement imported from France (vs China or India).
I went to the map on their web site, clicked on the North East/New England area of U.S. and it said they have no representation in that zone.
Same for the rest of U.S.
Then I tried "neighbors to the north" and it turns out that they have a place in St Hyacinthe, about 30 miles ENE of Montreal.
Here is where it got interesting, that whole street seems to be "industrial", it includes an address for Rad Equipment.
I checked this one, it is the tractor snowblower builder that TBN has other threads on.

Now I'm wondering how much other small scale (Cat 2 & 1) implements are manufactured in Canada.
Not just in "all of Canada", but on that street alone (-:

I don't think of Canada as "a country of small farms", but maybe some economic differences (Government policies, taxes, incentives toward small farming - vs encouragement of agribiz, etc.) keep small Ag implement manufacture still viable there ?

It is a day's drive for me, round trip - no idea what border delays would be with a truck and 1/2 ton of plough on the back.
Would probably get searched for drugs, explosives, etc.
I can't imagine farm equipment would have a high import duty though.
Hmmm.....
I will probably search out border importers in New Hampshire (no sales tax) and perhaps Vermont (closer to Montreal, so MIGHT be a bit cheaper on freight).

Welcome to the Land of Ice, Snow, and The Occasional Beaver !

I doubt you'd have any hassles at the border, maybe on the way back to the US, but not on the way in. We've never had any going either way. Pretty tolerant folks, generally speaking.

If it's made in North America, there should be NO duty. Not sure if they're actually made here, or imported from France.

We do (or did) build a fair bit of ag equipment, the old MF plow I have was built in Toronto back in the 60s.

I'd say it's worth checking into the import situation, see what it would cost you to do it both ways. I think the brokerage fees might be pretty high if you import via a third party.

Measure from the center of your drawbar to the inside of your right rear tire. If you don't have 27 inches, the 1-16 will worry you to death. Ken Sweet

Oh wow, important advice. On these little tractors you need to have correct wheel spacing.
About the Kubota L4400 pulling a two bottom, I have a 4WD L4300--ag tires--,
which is the same tractor, and it would be zero problem pulling 2X-12" or 2X-14" in my clay.

On bottoms, I believe most plows are engineered with the maximum bottoms in mind and then
produced in a variety of bottoms to suit the market.
I have taken bottoms up and down and it's always worked--but it adds to the cost to go up.
Droppng a bottom usually no problem.
Any other conversions I would ask Ken Sweet or someone else who is competent and does this for a living.
Prob best to buy what you want and call it good.
Just my two cents.

Thanks for the WARM welcome Sean.
Right now it looks like the lowest cost way for me to get this is for a Canadian citizen to send one down as a "Gift".
Do I hear a volunteer ?
(-:

Seriously, I think there is a lot of Ag equipment in Vermont that was produced just north of the border.
I bought a chain saw somewhere north of Orleans on the road to Newport many years ago - they're probably still there and I will look them up some time.

No hurry.
