UTV are a pretty hot market right now.

I only have experience with the Rhino, so a couple of brand comparisons might be cool. Plus, there are now UTV designed for a more specific application; Razor=sport, Rhino= half sport, half utility, Ranger= almost all utility. Many of the tractor manf. are geared more towards utility, i.e. Kubota, John Deere, etc.

I'd just like to see the spectrum of utility to sport and vairous brands.

We are going to do a UTV, ATV, as an upcoming project on our show. Is there any subjects you guys would like to see us cover?

I'd love to see a show testing the abilities of the lower end models of UTV's. There are allot of them in the $8,000 to $12,000 range that I'm sure are worth the money, but then there are those that sell for $5,000 that I wonder if they are any good.

A side by side test through an obsticle course with mud, rock, steep hills to climb and steep hills to test the brakes on going down hill would be very interesting to see.

Maybe do it empty, and then again with half a ton in the beds of each model too?

The fourseaters have allot of appeal also. Taking the family for a ride around the place is just as important as hauling hydraulic oil to the dozer when it's time to have fun with the kids!!!!

Maintnance and repair is probably the most important aspect of onwing any piece of equipment. It would be interesting to see what's involved and what it costs to do a basic tune up on the different models. They have different drive systems, so comparing each one to the other might show some savings in maintenance, or discover some issues that we might want to avoild. I know that I will never buy another 4.6 Ford V-8 because of the nightmare of changing the spark plugs!!!!!!!!!

Another good test is to see what it takes to buy a replacement part for each vehicle. Make it something standard, like a starter. Some dealers have them in stock, others take months to get anything in. The dealer might be the best guy in the world, but if he's working with a company that is disorganized or just doesn't support their product, you never know when you will get what you need.

I've also found that stores like Napa sell parts for allot of vehicles other then just cars. I get all my tractor parts from them at a pretty huge savings. Can you get UTV parts from an aftermart store? Spark plugs, filters, brakes and all the normal maintenance stuff?

As a do-it-yourself type of guy, it would be interesting to see what's involved in finding and rebuilding an older UTV. There are allot of older Kawasaki Mule's out there that are pretty worn out. Is it worthwhile to rebuild one, or are the parts so expensive that it's cheaper to just buy a new one?

Welcome to TBN,
Eddie

Guess u don"t like ATV'S ??
We do like ATV's but the aftermarket products for that market is hurting right now.
on the other hand the aftermarket for the UTV's is strong and growing.
now seeing that we help promote and endorse companys with aftermarket products.
we had a show all planed on ATV's but there were no company's that wanted to come on the show but as soon as we swiched it to a UTV the show sold out and we had to add a nothere one.
