TYM 25 issue

Tractor is a Cabelas LM25 which is made by TYM. I purchased it cheap as not running had 42 hours but owner overheated due to rats eating wires and cracked head. a mechanic had it planning to fix it and didnt. however he left off the fuel lines going to the injection pump...
so long story short replaced head, injectors, pump, thermostat, fixed wiring issues. Tractor is running fine. Except...
when going forward it will run for 100 feet then die suddenly. Cranks right up and goes forward a short distance and dies. engine does not sound loaded up Reverse i can drive anywhere and everywhere and no problem.
any thoughts as to what might cause this?

That will make a good tractor for back dragging.

Strange issue for sure but I would suspect a safety circuit problem. A switch somewhere out of adjustment or wired incorrectly?

Maybe a test would be to start the tractor then unplug the shut off solenoid. If the tractor stays running then drive forward and see if it dies. If not you know something somewhere is sending a signal to the shut off solenoid.

back dragging for sure. I feel like tow mater always going in reverse. Thanks for the suggestion - where would the shut off solenoid be located? is that on the injection pump?

didnt make a difference did notice when driving backwards the oil light flickering (not flashing). thinking its a wire that i missed
going to get a couple new sensors and pull the harness (ughhh)

How many wires going to the cut off solenoid? If 2 it should have not died of it is a wiring issue. If 3 wires it should have died when you unplugged it.
