TYM 353HST
I have a tym353hst with a few issues. First over a year ago I was unable to start the tractor. It was starting intermittently and then running well. In my efforts To figure out what my problem was I accidently pricked through one of the hot wires leading to one of the three relays up front , two are for glow plugs the other for starter. This started an instant meltdown of the front main harness. After testing and probing I discovered the ground on the battery terminal was compromised. So after a complete rewiring of the front harness and a new lead battery terminal, She starts and runs. At this point i drive it from my field to the side of my garage. In my efforts to splice out any shorted wiring I must of missed one . After running for a while I started and stopped a few times, then one of the small ground wires started smoking. This was a year ago.
Not needing the tractor and going through the sale and purchase of a new home. Now its time to move the tractor. So I purchase a new harness and controller. Not having a decent Schematic I wired the Starter to the best of my recollection, NOT GOOD. Turned the key not much happened , controller clicking away. Tested the battery , was pretty old. So i replaced it. Try to start again, this time plenty of amperage....Smoked the wiring harness again.
I am in search of answers to a few questions:
1) Would wiring the starter incorrectly cause the wiring harness to meltdown 2) .
2) photo of the proper connections for the the starter. Or at least an accurate description. (currently the Black w red strip is by itself).

3) I have yet to find a clear legible wiring diagram or even the correct one. I have been given several versions. 1 glow relay etc. ALmand??

I keep reading other posts, similar issues.... Very frustrated. Thank you all in advance.

Do you have the "Workshop Manual" for the H303/353?

If your major concern is wiring the starter perhaps you could provide a photo of it, especially the terminals. There is usually a solenoid or heavy relay involved as well. The ground on the starter is generally through the bolts holding it to the engine. Those must be tightened securely and your battery's ground must also be clean and attached securely to the body of the tractor.

I will, I currently live in Mass. and the tractor is in CT, Will take a picture of the starter on my way from work I know the starter is well grounded. I never took the main cable off from the battery, that's not included in the main harness I purchased. The area of concern is the two posts on the solenoid /bendix portion. I should of taken a picture prior to removing. My memory is not what it used to be. Thank you . I will forward pic soon
