TYM T1003
I've got a 2015 TYM T1003C that will no longer curl and has limited lift. This occurred after a day of grapple work lifting and moving heavy rocks. After disconnecting the grapple I noticed the problem. There are no leaks or busted hoses but I did notice a disconnected hose at the valve that leads to the grapple connection. I reconnected the hose but still no curl function. The loader will lift about three feet then stop. It will lower to the ground fine but won't lift higher than two or three feet, UNLESS I operate the loader control simultaneously in lift AND curl, then it raises to full height. I'm stumped, but then I know little to nothing about hydraulics, so that's no surprise. Sounds to me like something is busted internally in the loader valve but what to cause this weird condition. Taking it back to the selling dealer is out of the question as they're over 1,000 miles away and I have limited local reliable options. Any thoughts on how I might continue to troubleshoot? Thanks in advance!

does the bucket dump or just not move in either direction?

If no movement in either direction I would suspect a quick disconnect is not fully connected on the curl dump circuit

If no movement and you have a loader control valve that does not send the return oil from to lift spool to the curl spool a damaged seal or loose piston on a lift cylinder would explain why you can raise fully operating both functions.

I will disconnect and reconnect all quick disconnects. Not sure how I can tell if a seal is damaged internally. Nothing is leaking externally. Thanks for your help.

If you lift the front wheels off the ground with the lift cylinders will it stay raised with the valve in the spring loaded center position? If yes your lift cylinders are probably ok.

Will give that a go at first light.

Problem solved! I did your loader test and the lift cylinders would not raise the front end or the loader higher than a few feet. Still puzzled that I saw no damage or leaking, I cleaned all dirt from the connection and carefully traced them from the valve to the loader lift and curl cylinders. Still nothing until I decided to reverse the connections to the curl cylinders at the valve. That solved the problem and the loader was happy again. How'd this happen? My stupidity. When the problem first occurred and I noticed a disconnected quick connect, I tried reconnecting but couldn't get a firm enough grip without disconnecting a SECOND quick connect to get the first one back on. Well, you got it. I somehow switched the two connections and that was all it took to make the loader act screwy. A bit of an education for me as I figure swapping connections should only make the loader controls work in reverse. ie, down was now up or curl back would be curl forward. Obviously nope. The loader valve innards are not quite that simple. Anyway thanks for helping me work through it. As probably happens often on this forum, problems solved were usually problems self-induced.

Glad you found the problem and that it was an easy fix.

Yes problems are often self inflicted.
