Anyone do a comparison between these 2 when looking for a larger compact - at least 35 HP? I have been looking at the T series TYM and the XR series LS. One advantage I think TYM has is no engine computer - just one for the DPF.

I compared the T394 and T454 with the XR3135 and XR4140.

The TYM was cheaper, by a decent amount, but came standard with less (e.g., only 1 rear remote, no telescoping rear links, etc.). The biggest thing I didn't like about the TYM was that the placement of the rear remote lever was in a really awkward location (on the floor). It seemed like there were just a lot of small things like that, which made it seem like the TYM just wasn't quite as well thought out.

I ended up getting the XR4145HC and haven't regretted it once. I'm at 45 trouble free and regen free hours since November 2019.

Yeah I noticed the LS tractors are quite a bit higher. I believe I was quoted around 28 or so for the 4155 open station and loader.

This does not seem to me to be an optimal setup. The mechanical fuel injection system can only be optimal over a very narrow range (if at all). A computer controlled common rail fuel injection system can be optimal over a wider range. This combined with the computer controlling both as a coordinated system, means overall less soot and particulate production, placing less demand on the DPF and better fuel economy.:2cents:

The Ls does come much better equipped than the tym. But for 2 or 3 grand you could buy some nice implements.

I own 2 tym made tractors and like them both. But my buddy recently bought a new xr 4140 and it is very nice.Lots of upgrades over the tym. But for the 2 or 3 grand difference you could get some implements.

Do you think the LS is more comfortable? I have read several threads about people wishing the steering wheel was higher on the LS.

My guess is it's a personal issue, which is crucial when it comes to discussing ergonomics. If you haven't done so already, be sure to sit on both and find out what works for YOU, not for someone else.

Some people complain on the LS the cab doesn't have quite enough head room and the cab is a little more cramped. This was a plus for me. I'm 5'10", and don't need a lot of space. Instead, the lower cab allowed me to size up and get the XR41XX series which fit in my garage. The T454 was a couple inches too high. Otherwise, I may have ended up with it.

Again when it comes to ergonomics, find what works for you, not, someone else.

The mechanical pump will last 100 years without a hick up. On a tractor that is designed to run at wide open high rpm, it is optimal
