TYM 353HST
I'm hoping this is a fairly simple fix, maybe this has happened to one of you. I have a tym 353hst that shuts down fairly often. It doesn't matter whether it's hot or cold, or how long it has been running. I'll be going about 1500 - 2000 rpm with no load on, it can be in 2 or 4wd and it just shuts down. It's got about 106 hours on it. I have no local dealer any more but Cabela's has done the service on it but it a real pain to get it there. Before I try to get them to look at it, I'd like to try to figure it out. Also, which Mahindra and New Holland tractors use the Mitsubishi S4L2 4 cylinder engine? I have a local dealer for both that I might be able to get parts from.

Ever since I bought it this has been a real problem for me since the dealer went out of business. I have had no one to take care of its servicing for over three years until I found a local guy who works for the highway department who can work on it sometimes, and just recently got Cabela's to do the 50 and 100 hour services. I'm not much of a mechanic so I have to rely on others for my service work. I'm getting frustrated with this machine and am even thinking of trading for a different red or blue tractor just for ease of service. It shouldn't be this difficult to keep it running

Sounds like a fuel problem. I would pull the filter and see if there is much if any trash in it. Is it hard to restart after it shut down? Do you have to bleed the lines? Could be air getting into the fuel system or electric pump has stop working. Can you hear it running when you switch it on? Does it shut off when the fuel tank is full? A lot of ? I know. Next time it shuts down open the line to one of the injectors and see if you have fuel there.

I appreciate the help. I'm hoping to get my local guy to look at it soon, maybe in the next couple of days. The local blue dealer also sells Mahindras and suggested that it might be the fuel shutoff solenoid.

I gotta tell you, the guy who sold me this rig did a tremendous job pitching me. As a noobie, I had no clue what to get. I had visited three different dealers before I got to his shop and really didn't get much help. This guy asked all sorts of questions, gave me quite a demonstration, let me play for a while on one, brought two to my house to try, and then gave me a smoking deal on the 353HST. It was a no brainer. Then he went out of business. I had problems with the seat safety switch, which I cut out. Then last year I couldn't get it started for three months until the local guy got it going. I found out Cabela's tractors were made by TYM and I was able to get the 50 and 100 hour service done there, as well as getting the tires loaded, but it was expensive and far away. Nice folks but I would like to have someone closer.
The thing is a beast and does all that I ask for, but it has to be 100% reliable or I'm done.
