Trying to find out which grease is the absolute best choice for my B26. I was very surprised to find out how much grease the tractor requires per greasing. So before I go out and buy a case of the stuff, I want to make sure I know what I'm buying. Thanks

If you want to research this, I'd look on the lubricants forum, or search for previous threads where this has been discussed at length. I buy whatever EP grease is cheapest at Walmart.

Absolute best!? Good luck with that. Kubota thinks their grease is the absolute best for their tractors. My preference for farm tractors and implements is Valvoline Crimson Red, found at NAPA. Philip.

Welcome to the club on trying to find the 'best' grease.... search for a topic called something like 'grease - educate me' multiple pages of good grease info.. BUT no clear definitive answer on what is best..

I was using 'green grease' but (after reading on here) went to find some fortified with Moly to use (advance auto had it)..

I use the 2 grease gun method. One is marked High speed for things like u-joints, pto shafts & wheel bearings or any high speed bearings/shafts. In that gun I use Amsoil Oil NLGI 2 GC/LB Water Resistance Grease, which I believe is a Lithium based grease.
The other gun is marked Low Speed, that one is loaded with Amsoil Off Road Grease, which is Moly Based, I use that for loader pins, steering components, ball joints, anything that takes a pounding or twists & flex's.
I keep 1 spare grease tube on hand, when I load that tube, I get a replacement.
A tube of grease lasts me awhile and none of my vehicles/tractors & equipment lacks grease.

I would imagine the absolute best grease would be a synthetic such as offered by Amsoil,Valvoline,etc.I've personally use the black grease fortified with moly-disulfide,i.e.Moly-that nasty black stuff often used in automotive CV axles.Very pleased with the performance over the past 35 years.The Kubota grease at the dealer is moly.About $3-$4 a tube at the parts store.Good Luck!

i use almost 1 tube for the 555c TLB. ((i keep finding new zerks *grumbles*))

the FEL, BH, joints for the front tires, out riggers, i use the same thing for all. i don't remember brand/type but low duty / slow moving stuff at walmart (cheapest)

walmart here normally has either the fast moving or slow moving grease (read fine print)

i will pickup "fast moving" and/or "high heat" grease for the mower deck spindles/shafts.

generally after done using mower deck, i will clean it up, and grease right after putting up. or if down right to tired, and dark. i will wait till i need to use it next.

BH and out riggers. i gease approx every 8 hours of use. if there been a few months without use (because tractor seats out in weather) i will grease before use.

FEL and front tire joints, see BH above

==============
i pump enough grease in just to barely see it come out of a joint. and as long as i keep at use schedule. it does a pretty good job of maintaining grease on all pins and holes. and keeps things lubricated well enough. that i do not notice any sort of grinding or metal to metal of touching while things are being operated.

if i put to much grease in. things just get way to sloppy. and it splatters all over the place during use / operation. and does me little good. for after a short amount of time it all gets splattered out. and right back down to just enough grease to keep things coated.

===========
everything else on tractors. is an oil and not a grease to keep things lubricated and moving freely.
