Tz25DA What hydraulic oil can I use?

I just got a loader (1747) for my 08 NH TZ25DA so I need to add some fluid.

First off, what type of hydralic fluid can I add?-Can it be generic hydrauilic oil?

If I can put in generic, do I need to change all of the hydro oil our can I only add a little.

I asked this question earlier on this forum when needing to top up my TC34DA. I was told that the "Tractor Fluid" from O'Reilly's meets the spec. I've been using it with no problem. You can probably find that string with a search on "hydralic"

i'd be surprised if a machine of that age didn't spec a M2c134d style oil.. check the store brand utf fluids.. many / most meet it.

in doubt.. check yer manual to be sure.. whatever is fine for the tractor hyds.. etc.. will be ok for the loader..

Thanks for the replies, I did a little homework, I think I'll be ok to use generic tractor hydraullic fluid.

I'm adding a front end loader. Now my problem is I can't find the hydrallic hookups on my tractor. Its a 2008 New Holland TZ25DA, it should definately have hydrallic hook ups.............Right?

not all tractors come with remotes.. some have hyd tap blocks though...

pull up the hyds schematic from the nh parts site.. look for a valve block with a PB or diverter port.

These tractors do not utilize remotes to operate the loader. There is a diverter block on the right side of the transmission housing as stated above. It is easy access after removing the rear tire and wheel. The return line goes in the back of this block after removing the plug that is currently there. It is the only plug on the housing that is paralell to the three poit hitch arms. The pressure line is the top hole on the valve body and is perpendicular to the transmission housing. It will also be capped. You loader, if new, should have came with a pair of JIC 90 degree elbows to achieve the plumbing.

Your local dealer will be able to print you off a diagram if required. If some one can fill me in on how to attach a pdf file to a post I would be glad to post the instruction diagram. Otherwise I could email it to you, as I realize my instructions probably are not as descriptive as an image might be.

With the help of Soundguy, attached are the instructions on how to install the valve for your loader.

Please keep in mind that being you FEL is not NH, it may appear a little different. That being said, the plumbing "points" are the same.

Hope this guides you to the right ports to install your loader.

I have used O'Reilly's fluid for quite a while and have had no problems. However, when we moved the manual for my TZ25DA took legs and apparently moved someplace else. It is time to change the fluid and I cannot remember what the capacity is and cannot find that info on any site. Anyone know the capacity? I have a FEL and all the other work tools (toys) to go with the tractor. Thanks for your help.

The transmission hydro unit has a capacity of 13.8 quarts and the front axles holds 2.12 quarts. Might as well buy a 5 gallon bucket of 134 fluid and change both.
