UDT color question

O.K., I'm not 20, and truth be known maybe, sorta, kinda, need glasses when I'm trying to read something that's less than a foot in front of my face, but does anyone else have trouble seeing where the UDT fluid level is when you look at the dip stick?

I just got done with all the fluid and filter changes for Spring. For the life of me I can't tell where the UDT fluid level is on the dip stick. I know there's UDT fluid on the dip stick but as to where exactly the level is, I don't have a clue.

This is not new UDT fluid. I put in new fluid and on new filters at 160 hours. I'm at 300 hours. The UDT still does not have any color. Any suggestions?

Bill, I'm afraid that's a problem we all have. In my opinion, Kubota used the wrong color dipstick. Bright sunlight helps, but it ain't good under any circumstances.

bill: i am not 20 either. and i need glasses for everything, but i don't care what u use u can't see the level on anything.it is not only kubota, everthing is hard to see, and it is not our eyes.try angeling the dipstick in sunlight or use a flash light and angel it to show the level.u think they could make an easy to read dipstick!!!

I press the dipstick against a dry paper towel to determine the fluid level by the wet spot.

Two things:

First, if I ever have a hydrolic problem and the dealer claims it's because of lack of UDT fluid, no way he can prove it. Maybe the UDT jugs hold nothing but air.

Second, never mind, this comment should not be posted on this board, but it did involve the phrase "wet spot".
