I'm getting ready to change the transmission and hydraulic fluid in my Kubota and I have 2 gal of UDT on hand, I estimate needing 5 gal total. The manual calls for Super UDT is "super" much different than "regular" UDT? Judging from the price it's nearly 2 times better

Thanks

Pat

I think I read somewhere that the bx machines require the super while other kubotas spec. either.
If the manual says to use sudt, then thats what I'd use.

Kubota has migrated to SUDT for all tractors that originally used UDT.

If you can afford it, SUDT is better with the multiviscosity.

Our dealer said either would work, but they did not recommend mixing them. I am sure someone more informed can explain the downside of mixing.

My dealer doesnt even stock SUDT and orders it in special when someone requests it!!

SUDT is a 5w30 multiviscosity trans-hyraulic fluid. You can cross that if need be.

Kubota seems to have trouble deciding which fluid the BX24 uses...my owner's manual says to use SUDT. But then if you go to their website and look up the BX24 fluid chart it says either SUDT or UDT.
Sort of like their lack of good info about motor oil, they don't really say 15W-40 is ok but that is what 90% of us use and what most dealers sell.

BTW my dealer doesn't stock the SUDT either- so I ordered it for less than he wanted to order it....

If you have an HST or GST transmission use SUDT or if you want improved hydraulic pump service and operation, otherwise use UDT.

No matter what the temperature is, from sub zero to 200*F, SUDT always flows faster than UDT.

Thanks everyone, I guess I'll go with Super UDT, it's what the manual calls for. Maybe I can find a use for the 2 gal of UDT I have left over from a previous tractor.

The dealer I worked at quit stocking UDT and only used the super in everything. I remember seeing a service bulletin telling us to do that but I sure can't remember what all else it said.
