ufo problems

hello all i have had my fx 24 for a little over a year no problems except my ofo adjuster to level my blade stoped working you can still operatet manualy by accessing the selinoid but i would prefer to fix the control up on the ufo box but am not sure how to determine where to start i am not concerened with the controls for the tiller just the leveling control any info would be appreciated thanks billy

A good percentage of the UFO control problems that we see are caused by a bad ground. I believe the control box is grounded through the fender on many models & that can cause problems if rust builds up between the control box & the fender. That would be the easy fix.

We also created a schematic that shows how to completely eliminate the electronic processors inside of the UFO box and just use the joystick to operate it. Just email me if you would like that.

Welcome to the forum Rollingrock.

I'm an owner of a fx24D and see I was acussed of being one of the experts on the UFO controls in another thread today. I'm more like an X-spert than anything. I do use my UFO to control the tiller and with a second level sensor attached to the quick mount hitch, I can use the UFO to keep the 3-pt level.

Could you give some more info on how you use your controls and which one(s) are you having trouble with?

Are you aware there is a micro switch assiciated with the 3pt position control? If the level switch on the control panel is turned to the right position and the position control is pulled ALL the way back, the UFO will equalize the lift arms. You do need the position sensor on the hyd cyl for the right side lift.

Agree with Aron about bad grounds being a possibility for the recent control failure.

Thanks Mickey I seen on pictures of other tractors that mine doesent have the sensor on the side of the small cylnder on the three point. I mainly use mine for brush hogging and blading my road .I have a plow and disk but seldom use it . Mainly I would just use the little joy stick to level the blade.I took the unit off the fender and cleaned under it no change Aaron from Hoye is going to send some schematics to hook up just the joystick I will take it back off and make sure i am getting a ground .Thanks billy
