UG GC2400 rough idle and loss of power under load.

can hold rpm fine and smoothly with no load. put under load and yeah...loss of power.
idle loping.
gonna swap air and fuel filters.
fuel pumps running fine, no way to test pressure.

fuel filter.
had 15 hours on it when it gelled up once last winter, didn't have way to get new one to set it in shed warmed it cleaned it...been running over 100hrs now. was getting ready to replace it anyway.
had new one here, now will just go grab another new one to always have one on hand.

Based on your symptoms, that was certainly the best outcome.

Glad you got it fixed.

My fuel filter is as old as Irving's battery. But, I am able to get really good fuel here. And, I fill my tractor with a pump that has a big filter on it.

yeah it was REALLY crappy looking,should have done sooner but scheduled mtx due in Oct anyway so....chanced it.

from what I can tell GC 2300/2400/1700/1723/1725 all use the same paper element massey part # 3608255M1.
dealer cost is 10$ +tax then whatever markup there is. I spent 17 for one last winter from dealer.
ordered 2 today. 29.50 total
huh the 1532 I use often uses the same element. good to know. ladies up the road need to run tractor I got them covered if stuff gels. gotta pay for my free for life free range eggs somehow...

lindstrom stuff is link I was looking for but their filter packs are all orientated around air/fuel/oil filters and not hyd/oil as I now need. I have 2 air filters here, they get swapped out and serviced as needed. I now have multiple fuel filters on hand.
in few hours oil and hyd fluid service needed.
so will just have to grab oil and hyd filter from dealer.
then I do another neighbors initial 100 service on a gc1723.
oh well doing one pays for the other
