This may not be the same problem, but it may be related. The
gear shift on my 45S was getting a little stiff and squeaking.
We found the squeak, and lubricated. Smooth and quiet again.

just a quick follow up ... thanks for all the help...I sprayed lubricant onto the vertical rod leading from the forward/reverse lever into the tranny ... I let the lubricant drip down the rod, through the floor, and downwards. This did the trick, it freed up with two or three hard pulls/pushes...gotta tell you that I had to use way more force than was comfortable to get it moving again but I've had no more problems since.

just brought my dk45 to dealer only 60 hrs on it and got stuck in reverse... the dealer said they make a beefier rod that goes down in the tranny so he took care of it , but it must be a known issue

I too have the same issue w/ the forward/ reverse lever. I've never cursed so much when I was doing some FEL work this past weekend(lots of forward and reverse frustration). I hope I didn't damage anything other than my shoulder. Thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions. I'll work on it tonight after work.
