We built this awesome greenhouse with us and other people like us in mind. If you have a little knowledge of building things with your hands you can do this also.

We put it on skids. You know how it is when you are starting your homestead and your building pens, shacks, sheds, barns, fences, etc. and the day comes where you say only if I would of put it over there instead of here. Well this design can be moved every growing season if you like. Put it in the sun in the winter and then drag it to the shade in the summer.

We built it on our goose neck trailer because it provides a flat surface for us to work on and if a customer orders one its ready for transport.

You can also see how we did the shelves, automatic window opener and our door latch.

This design can be used for other things like a chicken tractor, animal shelter, temporary shed, etc.

Hope yall enjoy it.

I like the use of cattle panels over PVC pipe, but for a low end, wrapped in plastic green house, would't PVC be a lot more affordable? Was duct tape the only option for the ends?

Yes, pvc would be more affordable in the short term, but flimsy IMO and just not as rigid. The cattle panels just hold more of the plastic in place during weather conditions also. Duct tape was used for more than one reason. Starters it is what we had available. You can get some greenhouse plastic repair tape also. We also used staples to hold it in place, but when getting to the point of being able to staple it the duct tape worked like extra hands on the plastic.

I built a Chicken Tank a few years ago to house the chickens by using cattle panel and PT 2x4, 4x4s for part of the structure on the ground, and plain old 2x2 maybe 4x4 elsewhere. It worked real well and kept out the coyotes, hawks, owls and foxes. Finally got rid of the danged chickens, I never wanted them in the first place, but the wife and one kid did. Took off the dark colored tarp this year and repurposed for covering firewood. The old Chicken Tractor is getting clean up by rain fail and will be repurposed into a green house soon. :D

If we get tired of the green house I can easily tear it all apart and use the pieces for something else.:laughing::laughing:

Later,
Dan

Snap Clamps - PVC Fittings | Greenhouse Megastore

They make snap-on clips to hold plastic to pvc pipe. 3/4" conduit PVC could be hooped over the cattle panels at the ends and maybe a few in-between, then clip the plastic to the PVC.

The cattle panels should add a lot of strength for not a lot of money, shading or build time. Neat.

Shouldnt need no pvc with the cattle panels.

Shouldnt need no pvc with the cattle panels.

It might make it easier to attach and adjust the plastic is my thought, not that it is needed for strength.

I see hoop house designs that allow rolling up the plastic from the bottom to get ventilation on warmer days. I think this is to prevent over heating the plants. Using duct tape is going to make that adjusting difficult compared to re-usable clips on PVC.

With a few PVC pipe purlins run horizontally across the cattle panels, you could unclip the lower edge of the plastic, fold it up over the next highest purlin and clip it in place for example.

You might be able to do the same thing with heavy-duty clothespins or spring clamps that fit the cattle panel rods. To get the best life out of the plastic, you need to stop it from galloping in the wind.

My friend, you just said he needs pvc with the cattle panels. Was that your intention?
