Yes I have, in the late 1970s and early 1980s I worked in a fab shop. Ran 7018, 8018, 9018, and even 11018. They all run pretty much the same way.

10018D2 runs a little different. I worked at a shop that rebuilt blow out preventers with 10018D2. You basically build the whole block up and it gets machined back to size. Preheat to 400 deg's. and pour the rod to it. The biggest problem with the rods was porosity at the start even when they were fresh out of the rod oven. It wasn't always easy to start ahead and come back over the start. You had lean on the hot piece and reach inside to weld the inside surfaces.
