Ultrasonic Warning Device for Canopy/ROPS

If you have a tractor like my Kubota B3030 with tall ROPS and a canopy...you also have a potential risk of damaging your garage unless you have a non-standard garage door height. If like me you have a standard garage height...here is an inexpensive way to add an ultrasonic warning device to the canopy. Contact JC Whitney, and purchase their Ultrasonic Backup Alarm System (item ZX529063B) for $36.99, attach the two sensors to the front (right and left) of the canopy by locating them in the middle of the yellow reflectors (will need to drill a small hole for each wire), wire up the simple electronics to supply 12V to the system with ignition on...and you are done. Then, if you forget to lower the ROPS/canopy...as you approach within 5 or 6 feet of your garage...the ultrasonic alarm will begin to beep...going to a constant alarm if you get within a couple of feet. Another cool aspect is...the alarm will sound when you raise the FEL and roll back the bucket (helps remind you to be cautious). Otherwise...the alarm is silent. Rain and snow are distracting as the alarm beeps sometimes (like this past weekend's snow), but an on/off switch would take care of that.

I installed this $36.99 solution on my B3030...and it works great. Hope it helps somebody else.

Phil while your gadget sounds like a neat addition to most any tractor, if I could remember to turn the on/off switch back on after rain & snow, I could remember that the garage door opening was to low and might not need one. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
