As promised (though late) here are pics of my JD Umbrella Sun Shade.

I am pretty pleased with the umbrella overall. Originally, the straight shaft put the umbrella in tension against the shaft at the rear. I put a bend in the shaft and that eliminated the potential fray point. I did it with a conduit bender, which was not the right size nor strength for the tubing that the shade uses. You can see the kinks I introduced. Someday when I am flush and bored I'll order a replacement and have it bent professionally. Here are some tight shots.
As for clearance, you're in trouble on your 8 foot door. I have a ten footer and clear it by about 6 inches. You can fold the ROPS without removing the umbrella, though. Removing the umbrella is one pin. Removing the shaft involves loosening two 5/16" bolts. The bracket need never leave the ROPS.
