Had to replace my leaking PTO output shaft seal, pulled the seal out........and surprise! or not. These were the bearing shims!

Seals often go bad for a reason... Most leaking seals leak due to damaged components alowing play in the shaft the seal is riding against. So yeah, no real surprise there. Good luck with repairs.

Yep. With you 100% on this one Greg. Seals go bad from, 1. Age, 2. an outside force, which might be failed part or outside contamination.
