Kubota 4060 HSTC, Limited Edition
This past weekend I started the slow process of unlimiting my Grand L 4060 Limited Edition, by installing LED work lights. The lights were recycled from an older tractor. I only had to buy the switch. It turned out to be a pretty simple job but now I think I should have done a little more. While I had the cap off, I never thought to look for a wiring harness for rear work lights.

Now I need some guidance. If I find the harness is already there for the rear lights, it shouldn't be any trouble. If its not there, Ive thought about two options. I need to know if either is a reasonable solution.

First, I planned on removing the pod LED lights from the front and replace it with a light bar. I could then use the wiring from the second, unused light and run it under the cap, to the rear and mount one of the pod lights there. But anytime I turned on the work lights, the front and rear would come on. This shouldn't be a problem as I don't plan to road the tractor at night anyway, but would be nice to have the option to use only front or rear.

Second option would be to buy a second switch and plug it into the rear wiper harness, as we don't have rear wipers. The switch location would then be on the right side pillar beside the front light switch. The wiring harness runs up the pillar and exits the headliner at the rear glass. This would be an easy fix by just pulling it back above the headliner and out to the lights.

Im open to any suggestions. Let me know if either is these are BAD ideas.

The wiring is there for the rear, and comes down the right B post where you would need to install the switch. Are you sure the wires aren't outside the cab top near the high flashers? I bought my L4060 with front and rear lights, then replaced the lights with 54w led at each corner.
Personally, I would want to control the front / rear lights separately.

The tractor should be wired for the rear lights, just buy the switch from Kubota.

Thanks for the replies. Next question is where does the switch go. When I ordered the front switch, I thought the second plug in the B post was for rear work lights. The dealer brought it up on the computer and showed me its for the rear wipers. I wasn't planning on doing rear lights at the time so I didn't think to ask. And Ill be sure to check for the wiring near the flashers next time I'm down at the barn.

On my 2016 L4060 the switch is on the right B post, directly to the rear of the front work light switch. The front and rear wiper switches are next to the heater controls.
I think you're dealer is mistaken.

That makes a lot more sense. The switch for the front to wipers is up by the heater and I think there's a blank near it for another switch. What your saying makes a lot more sense, having both wiper switches in the same area and both light switches in another . Thanks for the help.

Documents my overkill project. If I ever upgrade to a L6060 I'll just do some big LED pods or mini-light bars on stock wiring & mount points though.

Great job. I wish I had seen this earlier. It does make me rethink switching out the pods for a light bar. Those pods put out enough light for me anyhow and hopefully won't put much stress on the bracket.
