I recently noticed my newly acquired '01 4210's 420 FEL is a little "tweaked". When dropping the bucket, the right edge (while sitting on tractor) of the bucket hits the ground first then the left edge. The previous owner obviously lifted something heavy, as the bucket has a depression on the top right side, which is probably the cause.

The diff is enough to cause me concern about pushing snow this winter with a level bucket. If I use enough down force, it'll straighten out. I've tried dropping the bucket on a stack of boards on the right edge, hoping this would do it, but hasnt so far.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure the rear tires match and have the same pressure? This can cause the loader to appear "tweaked". If it is tweaked, i would bet the loader boom is bent and not the bucket.

Yep, all tires match and air is the same. I'm going to try loosening the bolts that hold the front plate to the two lower side plates together and see if I can tweak it the opposite direction, retighten, and see if that works.

There are some adjustments you can make with the loader mounting points. Try putting the low edge of the bucket on a block, and loosening up the loader mounts that bolt to the side of the transmission. See if the mounts move a little bit, maybe if it does and you retorque the bolts the bucket may be level after. There are also a couple larger bolts midway in the loader frame that are adjusting points also, you could try the same thing with those and see if any of that helps. But, if the loader frame is tweaked too much, you may not be able to get it out. if you measure cross corners across the frame and compare the 2 lengths that should tell you how much it's tweaked.
good luck

Probably beating a dead horse but did you measure the diameter of both rear tires? My 2210 loader sat crooked, PSI was the same R-L but then I removed the tires to compare and found that one was about an inch taller. Jack each rear tire up and measure just to be sure! It doesn't take much of a difference to make the loader "sit" uneven. The other rule I use is that that top edge of the loader and the grill guard should be parallel - and they were, which led me to conclude that the entire tractor was not level.........

I think I have have found what is causing the bucket to not be level. The right loader post, where the "claw" (for a lack of the proper term, sorry) grabs onto the horizontal tube, is wider than the left, about 2.5 to 3 mm. This is enough that the right loader post is somewhat less secure, it wobbles more than the left. The loader doesnt look like it's been terribly abused. Seems like it would take a pretty good hit to bend the claws apart that much, unless it's just a defect when mfg.

I think I'll try taking some thin alum and see if I can make some shims, and see if these willl make up the diff, and level it all out. Any other ideas ? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
