I have a 5325 with two rear SCV outputs. I purchased a 42ton log splitter that mounts to the loader and run a hose to the rear of the tractor. The connectors on the splitter are flat faced skid steer type since that's what it was built for. I have put together a coupler using the flat face and some pioneer connectors from Farm & Fleet. I am able to extend and retract the cylinder just fine under no load. As soon as I put a log into the ram it will bit in about 1/4 inch and stop. Holding down the extend on the control in the cab does nothing. When retracting and I hit the limit I can tell by the pump whining, however in the extend under load it doesn't even whine.
Thoughts on what the problem might be? I believe my hoses are 3/8". Too long of a hose? Not large enough diameter? Couplers reducing flow? I'm not sure where to start. I did notice there is a very slight drip on one of the couplers so I plan to re-do them using teflon tape to see if it stops the leak. Since it's so small and doesn't spray under pressure I didn't think that was the issue.
Thanks
