I bought my Cub 7275 back in March. I have always thought that the little battery was quite insufficient for the tractor, especially when it is cold out. Now that the cold season is upon us in full swing, I decided the battery was too small as the starter seems to be straining to start my tractor up. The battery did check out ok with a load test. Yesterday, I took that little battery and disposed of it for good. In place of it, I installed a new larger battery box and a 700 CCA Group 24 battery. The old battery was 2 inches smaller in length and width. This has put an end to the hard cranking and a much easier life for the starter. The tractor only requires a battery with 500 CCA. The tractor starts up so much easier now with the extra power.
