Went to the first concert today in Harrisonburg... About 16 more to follow on the 2009 tour... GREAT show and I loved every minute... Free show, free parking. Best hour and a half ever. They will be in NC the next day, TN, next AL next, MS next AR next, LA next and hit TX... Jim, Denton TX is on the list, Eddie, Tyler TX is too... Great show... The last part is the best! Any Air Force Stand Up. Not many, Any Marine Corps Stand Up, lots, Any Army Stand Up, a few, Any Navy stand up, WOW... Half the group were on their feet!

Looks like they'll be about 5 or 6 miles from my house on March 3, but looking at the Navy Band Concert Tour Schedule, it says to contact the sponsors for ticket information and in Denton,they only give the sponsor's mailing address instead of a phone number. However, I assume I could find a phone number, and there'll likely be something about it in the Denton Record-Chronicle.

I sure wish it was going to be at 3 p.m., as in Harrisonburg, instead of 7:30 p.m. though. I'm not much of a night owl anymore; I'm a morning person.

I can appreciate that Bird. 7:30 is getting close to bed time. I have to go to bed early to wake up 3 hours before daylight this time of the year. Can't miss the best part of the day. Terry

Thanks Mark, we may try to make that. There's a Chinese restaurant in Denton, Tx not far from UNT that my wife and I like. That could be a nice trip to take my in-laws for dinner and a concert. Like Bird said, they did not include a phone number, but I'll do some checking and find out the story.

Bird: It looks like the Aggies are going to take some more kiddin'. The concert in College Station at Texas A&M has no contact information whatsoever.

Which Chinese restaurant? I'm sure there are some we're not acquainted with, but I think we've been to all the Chinese buffets in Denton. One of them is quite good, but we think the Palace Buffet on Main Street in Lewisville is the best one in the area.

And that didn't surprise you about the Aggies, did it?

I'm talking about the Chinatown Cafe at Bonnie Brae and University Drive. They have a larger selection of food on their buffet than any other we've been to. I always rate Chinese restaurants by how fresh the food is and how well they keep the serving line stocked. The Chinatown Cafe seems to do a good job of both. I also really like their hot and sour soup. Sometimes, I have it as an appetizer and dessert also.

Thanks, Jim, that's one we missed and will definitely have to try. We've been to the Evergreen Super Buffet a ways on east on University a couple of times; not bad at all, but not the best either.

RATS!

I called the Wind Studies Department at UNT and all tickets are gone.

Of course, if we want to get there 1/2 half hour early and go into a standby holding tank, we may be able to be seated in a no-show seat. . . maybe not.

Another time. . .sigh!
