Chipper Unknown brand chipper wont feed

As far as the feeder roller spring the correct direction, it is.

I think the springs should be replaced but I pushed down on the bar its attached to but it didn't seem to help any.

The roller seems to move freely as I cant detect any resistance anywhere along its travel up or down.

I cant just force a log in the roller to start feeding but if I lift the roller up it doesn't make a bit of difference.

I'm not sure what the issue is. Now that I'm 90% sure of the model I think I'll get some parts, like springs and maybe a new roller if the dimensions are the same, to see if that's an issue.
