Since it hasn't been much of winter in northern Va, I haven't started my tractor since mowing season ended. I started yesterday to do some road grading and had a warning light I've never seen and that was not shown in my owners manual. I did find it in the wiring diagram located in the service manual, however. For those who may have the same vintage owners manual as I do, the light that looks like an electrical resistor symbol (think of a horizontal line of connected capital Ws with no space between them WWW). It is the low expansion tank warning light - didn't even know I had one. OBTW, tractor started instantly after almost 3 months idle - love it!

Check the coolant level in your overflow reservoir. The expansion tank is the coolant overflow reservoir. Make sure it is at least 1/2 full cold. The warning light should go off. They are kind of sensitive.

FANTASTIC! Mine did the same thing this afternoon when I went out to start it. I looked at that symbol and thought for sure I had an electrical problem somewhere.

I'll check the expansion tank level.

Thanks for the heads up and for answering my question before I had to ask it.

The phrase "almost 3 months idle - love it!" seems a bit of an oxymoron for a Kioti site.... Repent!:D

You're right, I should be ashamed of myself. On the other hand, with the vineyard and grass dormant, no snow, and the road in pretty good shape, I figured I could hit some big indoor projects which I did. Now that March is upon us, I'm doing maintenance on on the orange beasts, and working on making a spray rig for the 3ph. I'll be getting my share of seat time again pretty soon. :--}

p.s. what I meant in my original post was that I didn't know I had a warning light for the expansion tank, not that I didn't know that there was a tank there.

Bill, I don't have any knowledge on that circuit, but I suspect that others might. They will be more likely to see it, and respond, if you post it in its own new thread with a subject of something like "glow plug problem." Good luck!
