Haven't been on this site for awhile. My wife died sudenly last January, been taking care of the kids and all the dreaded business that goes along with the loss.

I finally decided it was time to get some pastures renivated, and went to unlock the draft control on the back of the tractor. First of all I had to loosen my remote hydraulics bracket, then with big hands, get into a small area to loosen a bot that locked the draft in place. Followed the directions on the back of the tractor and also had talked to my dealer. Got the wrench on the correct area, went to move it. It would not budge, here my hands are banged up, I am ready to call the dealer. I get a hammer, hit the wrench several times, finally it breaks loose. You can move the lock with your fingers, once it broke loose. It seems the paint had bonded it, like a tack weld. After shocking it with a hammer hitting the wrench, it broke free. A job that should have took 15 minutes or less, took about a half hour. Just wanted to let others know if they have this same problem. Couldn't live without draft control on these hills.

Terry,
Thanks, running my Tractor is a way to work off stress, it is very relaxing. Went from a Yanmar 2000, which would work you to death, do to lower horsepower and not being 4 wheel drive. Plus I rolled it once, small sapling saved me. I love this tractor and I have a great dealer.

It can sure be a release alright. My problem now is, my son must have bought my tractor cause it has not been home in two weeks!!!!:)

I'll be glad when he pays me!?!?

Be safe and have FUN,
Terry

Know what you mean, I had to hide the keys to the tractor from my 14 year old son! He loves to tear things up with the FEL.

You be carefull, the Roll Over Bar and seat belts can make us feel to secure!

Hello Everyone, I think I need some information if you will. Is the draft control ready to go from the factory, or do you have to do something to prepare to use it? IE: remove a bolt? The draft has been locked for what purpose? I tried my draft control in my garden but wasn't sure if it was working properly because I thought I didn't have enough garden for my tractor. Let me know please.

I would rather loan you my dog than my tools as my dog can find his way back home. I heard that somewhere.

When you looking at the back of your tractor, on the upper right, there is what I call semi-type instructions decal on how to release your draft control. When you buy the tractor, it is locked, as you would not want to use it with a brush hog, box blade, rake. You have to loosen a bolt, then taking a bigger wrench, move the lock that prevents the draft control from operating. Once it is unlocked, you have to tighten the bolt to prevent the lock from reengaging by tightening the bolt. Then on your right, while you are in the seat, is two levers, the one closet towards the fender controls moving your implements up and down. the one near the seat has numbers 1-10 to control the draft. Should have a wing nut on it also. This wing nut is used to place the draft control in the same position each time.

I had to go back to the dealer, to get him to show me how to release the draft control, the dam decal on the back was like the owners manual, not very informative.

I have probably confuse you more than I have helped you. But the tractor comes from the factory with the draft control locked, so it is not working. My advice, if you can stop by your dealer, ask him to show you how to unlock the draft control.

JhkFarms, thanks again. I usually have my backhoe on, but I never noticed this before- I think? I adjusted my block so that I can use it in the future. I guess I should have checked this before my warranty ran out. I'm sure it will be fine.
