Up a creek without the proverbial paddle

Junk, here we had only gotten enough rain to keep stuff alive and not really grow much till about 4 weeks ago. The grass is really zoomin now, too bad it was not in time to help the crops do better. I think the frogs all drowned over friday and saturday though ;)

We're out of the "valley" but still effected by the "Ohio Valley" weather. (Ohio River Valley) Just a few miles south of us, on towards Bardstown, weather is completely different most of the time. Storms generally go north or south of us. Not a lot of row crop farming right in this immediate area anymore. Only need to go a few miles south or east to find it, but here, most all the tillable land is either hay or growing subdivisions. And the latter doesn't need much rain to make them grow. Hay got too much rain this year (too frequent anyway).

Saw something yesterday I've never seen before. Floyds Fork Creek jumped so fast, it trapped deer in an area just north of us. They got swept away in the floodwaters and finally drowned. Fish and Wildlife Officers were dragging the remains out of the creekbed.
