The name of the surgery I had is Orthopaedic Chondroplasty.

I'll be honest. I've posted so much on different forums and on Facebook I forget who I've told what. So if I repeat something please forgive me. Also my wife has been monitoring what I post. ESPECIALLY after she read the masterpiece I had titled "Pain Pills, Constipation, and Finding a Good Plumber". She deleted that one herself and I had to behave for a day or two. I was gonna post it to Facebook then copy it here but she did not like the subject matter.

AND we kept a nearly three year old for five nights this week, mom and dad on a business trip. She is a Granddaddy's girl and ran my old legs off. Sits in my lap or leans against me all the time and won't let me out of her sight. Watched Frozen three times and Tangled twice in one day. So forgive me if I'm a little addled.

The knee is coming along fine. To explain a little more, I did not realize how deep they were drilling into my knee and I didn't realize they were drilling nearly all the way thru it. My wife knew and we sat in the office at the same time when it was explained. So, anyway, they drilled several holes nearly thru the bone above and below the joint and injected some kind of stiffener to fill weak spots. Supposed to put off getting a knee replaced for a few years.

Now, I guess you want to know how it has worked so far.

They said the pain would go away between four and six weeks and it will be four weeks tomorrow. I will give you an example of what I'm going thru right now. We made a trip to Wal Mart yesterday. Knee had ached all morning and I was wondering if I should stay home. Got out of car and was completely pain free. Walked all over the store, up and down thru grocery section pushing the cart with the granddaughter in it. Forgot completely about the knee until walking out of the store and BOOM, from one step to the next it started hurting. And hurting bad. Things like that happening less all the time so maybe by the time the next two weeks pass I can walk around completely pain free.

Only thing I'm taking now is Naproxen Sodium (Aleve) and only one or two a day. I am about where I was before the surgery and looking for much improvement in the next two weeks. Have too much planned to do this spring and summer and I have got to have two good knees to do it.

I am real interested in how that knee is doing.
One of mine is getting extremely unreliable and will 'give out' at the most inopportune times. I have taken to using a cane. Makes me feel old. I hate it, but I hate almost falling over, when the knee wont support my weight worse.
As for wives proof reading what you write, you cannot be as open and above board with them as you can us fellas.
I would really like to read "Pain Pills, Constipation, and Finding a Good Plumber", but I guess that is out of the question now.

Glad you're recovering pretty well. Down to only one or two Aleve is great!

After the surgery you had, I would say you are recovering rather rapidly. Good that you are doing so well. Be careful that you don't overdo your galavanting around.

I would LOVE to read your masterpiece! Shame on the wifey, she is inhibiting an Arteest!:laughing::laughing: You could be the next Shakespeare, Hemingway, Lewis Grizzard, or worst case, Larry the Cable Guy. :D:D:D

Watching those movies, and they are decent, that many times will drive one a bit batty. But well worth it.

Sounds like things are working which is much goodness.
