- New Holland 3930 Turbo, John Deere 5500/520 loader
So I posted a few things a month or so ago about hooking up a Ford 7209 to a NH3930 tractor that came with no remote hydraulic hookups. So after researching and getting some good pointers from some of the guys here, I decided to do a hydraulic tapping block and went ahead and got a two-spool valve kit to go on top of that for possible future attachments down the road. Now, I read posts and got feedback from several people saying a single pump tractor wouldn't be very efficient. Well just by chance, because I'm still on the search for the front loader mounting brackets, my uncle said he had a friend down the road with a tractor similar to mine, so we went and checked it out, and behold a 4630 with a 7209 loader! The bucket on this loader was huge, the guy said a school had it and had welded onto the bucket to use it for mulch. I saw it was a single pump tractor with the identical hydraulic set up I just installed on the 3930, so I asked him about performance. He said he's never had an issue with the performance even with the giant bucket on the front of it. I saw no issues with the speed in which it operated either. At idle speed it seemed to lack in speed but anything above that was fine. After talking for a while and explaining what I was trying to do, he offered to let me pull one of his brackets off so I could take it up to a local welding shop and hopefully get them made, very generous offer, I think. Haven't had time from work to get around to that quite yet. But, for now the project has moved forward in a positive direction at least. Definitely learned a lot about these ford tractors and the hydraulic set ups on them. I wish on the newer models the parts data from CNH would have been kept up with a little better, I found a lot of sellers of parts are reluctant to say whether or not something that fits a 3910 will fit a 3930, ect. Appears many parts that aren't listed for the 3930 but for are other models will fit. I appreciate the input I got from everyone on TBN, a lot of experience and knowledge here for sure!
