Well not too much snow to speak of.....maybe 3" and double this where the townhouses hired winter crew left a 6"ridge of it in front of my van....I didn't get no pic's but there was a question from some members on how much traction I was gonna' get with the old truck type tires with no weight on the rear plus no tire chains...I just set it on fourwheel drive... I cant even remember if I set the differential lock :D.... regardless if I did or didn't ...my little tractor walked up the grade without a tiny spin of front or rear tires just like a knife through butter....

plus it was fun not having to dismount and angle the blade for a change...took me less than 5 minutes to do my side of the driveway only.... which as I mentioned is on an a slight incline.... I found the valve levers a bit too close together and also I'll have to get use to which way is up and which way is down..plus the angle part of it.

I believe I should have this absorbed in my old tired out mind after maybe a dozen or so runs.....as for the set up and all my own work on this project it seems to be all workin' out as planned...I even ploughed all the snow up onto the grassy end of the complex.....what a difference over the old 12 volt electric winch I used last winter on the old plough for the lift only....

looks like more snow on the way....I almost forgot ....my Fugi digital camera has a video mode with sound.... if by chance I could get my lady to run my camera and I find out how to post them.... so you guys could see this little compact tractor in action with sound...I'll see if I can get her (my lady)interested in learnin' how to take some action shots.....of course.... when she's(my lady) not at the Bingo Hall :D....till then guys.....take care and Happy Holidays Ampa <> :)

We will be waiting, Ampa.

Can you brake in the bingo hall and hide the boards?!

Ampa, just a suggestion that might help.

Depending on which lever is for up down, I would use the pushing it forward for down and pulling it back for lifting the blade. Seems more natural.

If it works backwards to that, just swap the two QC out front.

And for the left/right, on mine I think of it as, push that lever forward and the right side of the blade, same side as the levers are on that right fender, moves forward. Pull the lever back and the right side of the blade moves back. Again, just switch the QC out front to suit.

Then I used red/yellow/blue/green wire ties from good old Princess Auto to mark each QC connection so it's easy to re-connect each fall.

Great to hear it works well and you're happy.

Everything these days is automated they don't use boards no more.....she just called me a few minutes ago and told me she won a $100....Hi Spudhauler good idea....I've never removed the hoses since I installed them....whats the safest way to do this since I believe the lines will be under pressure ?...and will I lose some hydraulic fluid when I do disconnect them?....I should have taken J_J's advice and installed a liquid filled $15 gauge on the high pressure side....

I may still do this when I get some extra money....sort of tapped right out... I don't think my lady would give me any of her winnings for my tractor....she says I've spent enough on it already.... good thinkin' usin' the ties for marking them for future refference though....here I thought I had them connected the proper way first off.... but I guess not now that you explained it to me how they should work.....another thing is my crappy welding I done on this seems to be holdin' out as well.....thank you very much ...... take care Ampa <> :)

with the tractor off you move the levers back and forth should release any pressure

Ampa,
put your blade down for safety.

So you don't crush any toes.

Then uncouple at the Quick Couplers and switch there if you have to. Less than a tablespoon of fluid loss when you uncouple.

You see in this picture the little ties on each side of each QC.

Just went over and looked at your pictures again. Great reference.

For the pressure checker you mentioned, here is an idea if you don't want one permanently attached;

Get a gauge like JJ suggested, and the male side of a QC and thread the two together.

Then anytime you want to check your pressure in the system, unplug the top line to the lift cylinder say, plug in the new tool you just made, start the tractor and pull the lever. Bingo it will read your system pressure.

And you can check each line if needed and when finished store it away until needed the next time.

I go into the hospital tomorrow Friday 17th. 2010....for removel of about 18" or so of my large bowel..then I'll be in the hospital for about 5 days..so I don't know when I'll be able to mount my tractor again even to climb up to even sit on it...may be a challenge :D..so the snow will have to pile up for awhile I'm guessin'....so the pic's will be on hold for the time bein' as well... anyhow...take care and a Merry Christmas to you and your family <>Ampa<>:)
