Wanted to share my latest mod on my NX5510- grill guard insert.

Was cut from 1/8" sheet, 3/4" holes. Just didn't like the look of expanded sheet, and costs were similar to buying perf. steel.

Before and after pictures attached.

Thanks, got lucky and knew somebody. Sometimes it works out better than doing it yourself. Glad I did this time. :D

That's a great job, and looks to provide great protection but, doesn't it negate your headlights ? but, then I see those monster LEDs on the cab roof........never mind, Mike.

You got it Mike. Once I installed those led's, the hood lights were useless. One of the best upgrades I've done are the led's front and rear. Think they were around $55 for all four. I tried a little bucket work at dark right after I got the tractor. Bucket or front attachment blocked the hood lights anyway.

I though about LARGE LED flood lights on my tractor. Some of you might have witnessed the type I speak of here - they can also be found on commercial fishing boats. The front lens is about 9" tall and about 14" wide. When you are commercial fishing at night - you don't need some Mickey Mouse LED light from JC Whitney. You either see what you are doing or for dam sure - you will get hurt.

Julian A. McDermott Corp - 1639 Stephen St - Ridgewood, NY I was looking at their 12VDC - 50 watt model. With its 130 degree beam spread - one light would totally illuminate everything forward. If need be - put it on a gimbal and you could have rear lighting as required.

From my experience - these flood lights will make "daylight" out about 50 yards in front of your operation. Thereafter - diminishing out to about a quarter mile.

This is a REAL working lighting system - not some "chrome hubcap" deal. View attachment 579569

I have 2 of the 50 watt LED lights in the yard about 100 feet apart and 10' up, pointing to each other and there is plenty of light to do "stuff". I don't know that they make "daylight" out about 50 yards, but what he describes here is pretty close to what I've got.

Of course, what ever lights you use, watch out for branches and bugs that are drawn to light.

Very nicely done

That looks great! Paint match looks to be spot on in bright sunlight too. How much would your friend want to do another?
