Holy cow!! I'm about to order a 2320... Is this what I'm in for?

Maybe I’ll ask my doc for a tranquilizer (or two) to put me out till she arrives. Better yet, while I’m out, my wife can bring me to the dealer so when I awake she’ll be in my sights (2320 not my wife).:D

Hmm, i think you probably mean both of them in your sight?

Nuru, you’re right… I don’t want her to get jealous or I’ll be sleeping on the thing. :( But in all reality, once she learns how to drive it, I’ll be the one fighting for seat time…

My 15 year old daughter can’t wait till we get it, as she loves anything mechanical (wants to be an airline pilot when she grows up). But her driving the tractor makes me very nervous. Although she handles a car very well (as well as planes), this thing I think takes a whole new set of skills. She will have to watch dad for a while.

.

My 15 yr old Daughter seems to show an interest in driving the tractor, so does her younger brother. I probably will let them do it on anything but the slopes. I am trying to get rid of some of them by adding dirt and mounts with plants and trees.

Definitely understand the wife jealousy thing - ran into that on the 4100. Not so much on the 4310 though:rolleyes:. Lucky for me!

I too have lots of slopes. Our house is basically built on the side of a mountain with a flat area (about 3/4 acre) where the house sits. So the 1800foot driveway getting up to the house and the lawn leading up to it is sloped. I'm also planning rock gardens and plantings in the more precarious areas to eliminate having to mow them (will look nice too).

I'm choosing the 2320 mainly because of the extra ground clearance over the 2305, but it will have a higher center of gravity (at lease I assume so) which may make it more prone to tipping than the 2305. I’ll just have to mow up and down and not sideways.

VTtractorguy,

I drove a 2320 with loaded rear tires on some slopes with the loader on but no 3PT ballast and it felt more stable than a 2305 under the same conditions. Are you planning on loading the tires? I highly recommend RimGuard (non-toxic, non-rusting) although a leak in loaded tires isn't fun . . . ask me how I know!

Yes, I will be loading the tires although I’d prefer not too because of the added weight on the grass. We have some soupy areas and I’m afraid I’m going to leave ruts. I will be getting the ballast box though. I'm also torn between R4s and turfs.

What do you think of wheel weights in place of loaded tires?

So I’m dyeing to know… did your garage fill up with RimGuard one night? What is that stuff like to clean up?

For extreme sloping, the loaded tires will help. on my 4100 they made a big difference. On the 4310, i am gonna try the wide tires and the wide stance on the front. i just picked up some turf specials and , i just switched over to them and filled them to specs with air. They add 4 inches on the read each side and almost 3 inches of tread on each side on the wide setting

. i am gonna try the ballast box with the special turfs and the loadr at somwe point and see how they perform. I am still considering loading the fronts with foam, but don't think I would load the turf specials on the rear, as i would not be able to easily move them around:eek:. However, I am thinking about doing that on the R3 rears, but they are so heavy already, I think the ballast box will do the trick.
