Nice trailer... always thought a well made Aluminum trailer makes a lot of sense...

Never been able to find a good deal on one yet.

The less trailer weight... the more load capacity and easier on fuel.

How does your combination tow going down the road and at highway speed?

that's a nice looking trailer. aluminum trailers are nice and light, and a light trailer is a wonderful thing. you get greater payload when loaded and when unloaded you have less weight to drag around. the only downside i can see is that you'll need to watch for cracks and you want to make sure you wash any magnesium chloride off as soon as possible. the mag chloride (the new stuff roads are sprayed with to help melt ice and snow) will corrode anything and is sticky/slimy so it's hard to get off. it does a great job on the roads but is a total pain otherwise.

you also need to put a strap across the front end loader bucket. state and federal dot cops look for this kind of thing. most of the time, if you don't give them any attitude or lip, they usually look at their job as more education oriented than enforcement. get them irritated with you, and life can get expensive very quickly. the dot cops are going to be concentrating on commercial operations mostly, but they can decide to look you over if you catch their eye for some reason.

i would also counsel you to move the outboard portion of your rear most straps as far to the back as you can. right now the straps are very close to perpendicular to the long axis of the trailer. this will do a great job of keeping the front of the bigger tractor on the trailer centerline but will do very little to keep the tractor from rolling forward if you have to slam on the brakes. the first i think about when i planned how to restrain a load is "what happens if i have to do a panic stop"?

another thing you could do is to figure out how to secure a 4x4 in front of the rear wheels of the bigger tractor. this will also help in a panic stop situation.

Good looking trailer. How long and how much does it weigh?

What are the ratchet straps rated for?

How are the D rings anchored? Large area washers under nut? What are the rings rated for?

How is your tongue weight proper with that load configuration?

Only questions I can come up with at this time.

It looks to me you need heavier straps and D-rings. Also they need to be at a 45 deg angle or so.

Yikes, those straps look too small. Even if they are technically rated so x number of pounds, that is above the weight of your tractor, you need to consider the forces involved in a panic stop or collision.

I'd sure have at least two extra strong straps, one holding the tractor back from forward motion, and one
holding it upright. Then supplement with other straps.

Having owned a larger boat, I am used to the "spring line" approach, two lines on each side, one going forward, one
going in reverse. Then a strong one to the rear, and another strong line in the middle. Isn't likely you can accelerate fast enough
to flip your tractors off going backwards...:D

Actually I think I have the same straps on my trailer, the larger size retractables? they are great for machinery and maybe "her" tractor but
yours needs a stronger strap on the axle or off the drawbar. Easy to add. Never can have enough straps.

they make heavy duty axle straps that can be modified into nice tie down straps btw.
Very nice looking trailer, I bet you picked up another five hundred pounds of capacity.

I'd hook those straps to the stake pockets instead of the little d-rings, and get heavier duty ratchet straps or chains and binders. Nice trailer, tractors and truck. Whats the empty weight of that trailer?
