I am new to this forum... wished I'd found it years ago. Anyway, I am looking at posibly upgrading from my BX2200 (which I love), to a new BX23.

1). What should I get for the 3 year old BX2200 with 54" mmm, front loader

2). What should I pay for a BX23 with bucket, mmm, and bh?

Thanks in advance....

Prices are regional, so it depends on how much competition there is in your market. Keep the MMM and use it with the new machine. Just have the dealership set it up on the new machine before delivery. No need to take a loss on the MMM to replace it with the same thing.

Oregon,

One thing you might consider as an alternative (if your trade price is unfavorable) is getting the Woods BH for your BX. I think at least one guy here did that, but I don't recall for sure.

The downside is it's not Kubota and the ROPS could be a head banger (as reported here).

If you search this site, there have been posts about it. My guess is it will costs $5-$7K, but if that's cheaper than you can trade for, it might be an option.

Let us know what you find out.

Is this the mower for your BX2200 or are you talking about the BX23 with a 54'' mower.
Were you thinking of moving up to the 60'' MMM if you got a BX23?

The 54" deck is on the current BX2200. I'm happy with that deck, and Junkman had a great point about not paying for the depreciation twice (and just keep the current deck).

On the other hand... If I end up selling my system, I assume it's worth a lot more with the deck - since that's probably the most used attachement of the lot....

Hmmm life is just not simple, but I guess that's the reason there are forums like this 8^)

There is no good reason to trade the deck with the tractor. If the dealer needs a deck to make the sale of the tractor, then he will put a new one onto the used tractor and use that as an additional selling point. The dealer can sell the deck at cost if he is making a profit on the used tractor. If you trade the deck to the dealer he is just going to be saving money on the sale of the used tractor. What if the person buying the used tractor doesn't want a MMM. He isn't going to force them to take it or loose the sale. He will just put it with another tractor and sell it. He might even put it with a new tractor to make that sale. Your best savings is to take care of yourself first and let the dealer worry about selling you used tractor. I doubt that he would be giving you an additional $600 for a used deck. If you want, make your best deal without the deck, and then ask about a swap of a new deck for the old deck and see how much more he will want. Then you can decide if it is worthwhile. My guess is that it won't be worthwhile for you to buy the new deck.. Junk....
