Used 2520

Stopped at the Deere dealer today for parts. Noticed they had a two year old 2520 with less than 300 hours on the lot with a 200 loader. Outright cash price is $15900. Salesman said it would list for $19500 new so they are discounting it 3600 ( from full retail ??????? ) . The machine was skuffed up and the paint was worn off the foot controls which leads me to believe it was worked hard. Add $3600 for a 72" lawn deck. Thought about an upgrade with my 4110 but for the few hp involved and a huge amount of cash I think I will pass for now. Does anyone pay full retail for JD compacts ?

I bought a new 2011, 2520 with 200 CX Loader, ballast box, 62D Mower, 5 ft rear blade, independent lift, $18,999 and zero percent financing. Dealer is in Farmington, Connecticut. The 2520 is a great machine.

Here's a dumb question... how do you know what year your 2x20 tractor is? Does it go by serial number ranges? I just bought a 2720 and the tag has no year information at all. How do I know if I got a recent unit or a old 2011 leftover?

The dealer has a book similar to a car value book. it lists attachment & tractor values. Also has a serial number range to indicate year and month of production. We looked up my 4110.

Is the serial number range data available elsewhere? I don't see anything listed on TractorData.com.

You can call Deere with the SN. They will give you more info than you will need. I just did it with a used 2011 I bought to verify age and warranty dates.
