Kubota, BX23
Hi, I'm purhasing my first real tractor, and put a deposit on a 2004 BX 2 with 82 hours, also included a 60" MM. Its from the dealer. I wanted to ask ya'll if there is any extras that should come with the tractor when its delivered? Perhaps something that isn't attached when the BH is on? I put 50% down but it was dark in the warehouse, however it appeared to be new. Anything I should be extra aware of at delivery. I gave 15,200 and felt it was a good price. The deck is brand new. Any ideas or tips would be great.
Thank you and I am glad to be a new memeber.

I also wanted to ask if it should have the 3 point hitch with it?

The 3 pt hitch assembly should come with it. It may be in a seperate box if the backhoe is on.

Make sure you get the two locking inserts for the backhoe, one that locks it from rotating and one that locks it from extending. These should either be in the hoe itself or in their storage holes in the working area of the backhoe. The BX23 comes with a 3pt hitch that gets installed once the backhoe unit is removed. There should be two lower arms, two connecting links from the lower arms to the hydraulic levers, a top link, and some other random parts. Try looking around on tractorbynet for pics of the BX 3pt and you should be able to get a good idea of the parts involved. Other than that I can't think of any other loose parts that should come with the BX.

I checked the photos and found the Cat 1 on a BX 1500, Any chance anyone has any other pictures of the BX 23 hitch I an use as reference?

The 3pt pieces on any of the BX tractors should be the same. I attached a pic of the 3pt on my BX23 that might help. The other thing you could do is take a look at www.tractorsmart.com for how much the 3pt parts would cost if you had to buy them - that way if the parts are missing you would have an idea of what the replacement cost is going to be. It pays to be prepared to haggle the price if the parts are missing.

Oh yeah - the quick hitch should not come with the BX /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif - that is something I added. If you intend on using a number of different attachements however I highly recommend it. I have seen them going on Ebay lately for about $120.00

Please remember that this is not a brand specific category. Your post should be in the Kubota forum. Welcome to TBN, you'll get used to it all quickly. John

Make sure you get ALL the manuals, as in, one for the tractor, one for the FEL, one for the BH, and one for the MMM. Also, make sure ya get a nice new Kubota hat.

Also, have the dealer weld a hook or two on the top edge of the FEL. If they charge you for it, the cost will be minimal compared to how much more you can get done with those hooks -- handier than a pocket on a shirt.

Also try to get the materials for the 50 hour service thrown in to the deal, or at least at a discount. You're paying close to new retail for that machine (mine was 16.3K new), and these materials (Hydro and oil filters, 3 gals. of Super UDT) probably cost less than $100.00.

One more thing. On delivery day, take lots of pictures. That tractor will never be as clean again. Congratulations on your purchase. You're gonna love that machine.
