used chainsaw prices/saw worth fixing

Stick it on a shelf Terry, one day you might come across an old parts saw. Although not a commercial Husky, Dolmar or Stihl, Echo's are a very decent saw and comparable with the others "ranch" saws or better.

funny..... my father has about 20 of those old saws for another day on the shelf. i don't need to add to it. i will see if a friend of my wants it as it does run he can put the $60 into it and have a half way decent saw

That's a good start. You both win. Your broken saw may now become his working saw (hopefully).

It has taken me 66 years to realize that I don't actually need all my "Treasures". I'd much rather see someone else actually use some of them.
