used CK20

ok went and looked at the tractor tonight finally. all in all it seemed like a nice clean tractor. didn't notice any leaks, and it didn't look all banged up. there was a couple things I'm concerned about. the first issue was the hydraulic bucket on the FEL, it didn't want to stay in position when you let off the joystick. It would drop down on its own. not sure if that is a cylinder problem or pump. it looked like it had plenty of fluid.
This is not a pump problem, it is either a cylinder or valve problem, a decent hydraulic shop can fix it.

Second was the joystick. it had already been replaced before, but it just seemed like it needed to be greased or something, it was very "sticky", didn't want to return to the neutral position when you let off of it.
This is usually a bad joystick cable, they are approx $60/$75 a piece.
and Third was the 3pt hitch. it went up fine like it should, but would not lower down at all without weight being applied to it. Is this typical?
This is typical, turn the knob under the edge of the seat towards "rabbit"

just wondering your opinions on what I found out. especially on the bucket issue.

As far as price, based on your description that doesn't sound too bad.
Is it an actual CK20 or a CK20S??

Not sure what the difference in a ck20 and ck20s is. Could you explain? What could be causing the bucket to curl down on it's own? Leaking seal on the inside of the hydraulic piston? There was no evidence of a leak on the outside.

Did the CK20s have the same injection pump problem for a couple years as some others? I would imagine at 1300 hours that if they did, it has been repaired.

7 or 8 years ago, I bought NEW ck-20S with Hydrostatic and a backhoe and fel. It has just over 1300 hours and has been a good tractor. I have maintained it by the book over the years. I had to replace a throw out beARING and a fuel cam AM OVER THE YEars. The dealer picked up the trctor (Michigan Iron) and fixed it up like new. You would be surprrized at the size and number of stumps that little tractor has dug out. I;m thinking it has several yers yet for me to work this fine piece of equipment.
