I am selling most of my equipment and getting out of the cattle business. Anyone know a site that I can get an estimate of what I should ask for my equipment?

Around here you would put it up for sale for 10% over new MSRP. That seems to be the norm here.

Pricing really is a regional thing.

Sometimes you can search auction services on line in your region and they will post prices paid on recent auctions.

You might even consider having a local auction house come and take a look and provide you with a proposal to auction your equipment off.

Having said that, auctions are dicey. An acquaintance of mine several years ago had to auction off his sawmill equipment. I made the mistake of asking how the auction went. He was not happy!

Unfortunately, there is no "Blue Book" on farm equipment that I know of like in the car business.

Try tractorhouse.com you can search various implements and enter your zip code to see what comparable equipment is selling for near you both by dealers and private sellers. You can also post ads at no charge, I've bought and sold most of my equipment on that site as well as Craigslist.

You could check your local Craig's List under "farm and garden" for a while and see what compares to your equipment. You may be able to find a consignment auction nearby and sell it there, however as mentioned, the sale depends on the weather, how it was advertised etc. and you'd have to pay a 15% fee (or some such amount).

Just about had coffee spraying out my nostrils, .

Like some have said check you local Craigslist and doo a 100-150 mile distance and do the same with Facebook marketplace,it will give you a idea anyway. Right now I am looking at a used 60 inch land rake for 400.00 new the same one is 519.00, if the equipment is in good shape/condition you should be able to get at least 75% of what it cost you, seems to be the norm around where I live but then there are those who think their used equipment is gold and try t sell for new price.

Jim.
