My personal experience with dealing with horses all my life is there ain't no such thing as a good used horse trailer. If it is cheap they are usually wore out and if it is half decent the sellers want as much as a new one. Plus the new trailers they are selling now a days are far better than any they made 15 years ago.

I agree with Jim.....most used ones are either wore out or overpriced. You are usually better off buying from an individual than a dealer and you should be open to traveling a ways to get it.

I think that this is the weekend for the horse expo show in Harrisburg. That would be a good place to see what the dealers are willing to give on new plus you can kick the tires on a lot of trailers.

If you know what you want, spend some time researching the sites. Horsetrailerworld for one lists the "hits". A lot of hits along and the trailer not moving means too much money, a bad design, or perhaps mechanical problems.

The market is glutted with horses and trailers. Unless you are a super nice person with lots of cash, take advantage of it.

What ever brand you end up with make sure its aluminum. They hold there value FAR better than a steel unit.
