My first post and possible a first tractor. I have found a 2006 3520 with power reverser, 300 cx loader with 73 inch HD buket with bolt on cutting edge. It has the R1 tires on it with no extra's. The tractors has only 31 hours on it and the price is $18,ooo. Warranty is good until November. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking?

IMO from doing my shopping a month or so ago...thats high..

I was quoted: Brand New 3520 eHydro, 300cx, Skid Steer QA w/60" Foundry Bucket, R4's, 110lbs of Iron on each rear wheel...
20k + Tax.

Just the eHydro tranny is about a grand, add the other doo dads like the bucket, R4's, Wheel Weights, etc and I'm thinking you can buy a new one for that price. BUT, your area might be different...YMMV

Spudland_Dave, where did you get the quote? In Vermont the best I could find for a new tractor with the exact setup was $21,700. This did not include hydro or R4's and the quotes for that tractor were closer to $23,000. Is it wiser to go new for the warranty and resale? It seems to me that if you can get a tractor after depreciation it would be a better deal?

Nowadays, at least for tractors, depending on which model you are after, the new tractr deals are so close that the warranty and financing make it very easy to get into a new one.

that is what i did:rolleyes:

I'd personally pay a little extra for a brand new machine. All used machines are on the market for a reason, be it financial, too small, too big, or possibly a lemon. When the margin of difference is so slim its not worth the risk. PLUS when you buy a machine new, the dealer is more apt to help you out with anything.
I'm guessing if you shop Orange (Seriously I shopped Kubota only to leverage my position on the Deere) and go in with your game face...the numbers may change.
One thing I must mention.... the bucket on my quote was a "New Old Stock" bucket off a New Holland Skid Steer. It was ordered for a customer a few years ago and things fell thru...sitting in the tall grass for a while. So while the bucket had never seen a scoop of dirt, it had some minor surface rust. They threw in a quart of Blitz Black with the bucket. So in essence I was helping them rid themselves of an "odd" bucket.

As I mentioned in another post, to protect the innocent, I dont want to post specifics on my deal...I was asked to not "spread the word" on the deal I got. I sum it it up I was in the right place at the right time and all the moons were aligned just right.

Oh you are so lucky. I really like your deal. I cannot wait for my 3520 to show up!:D

Oh yes and the CDIO (covert deal Information Operation), is in full effect here, even with the good deal I am getting! LOL
