Used Jinma

Hello, I have been researching compact tractors for awhile now. Will be used around the house with 7 acres for FEL work, snow removal, wood chipping, lawn mowing, moving wood, and brush hogging. I've been reading here and other sites about the Chinese tractors. Looking at the 254/284 Jinma. I've also talked to Ronald in VA. about purchasing a new one. This is probably the way I will go. I did find this used one. It is supposed to be a 2007. I was wondering if it is with the headlights like this. It has only 50 hrs on it with no FEL. Was also wondering how much it would be worth.

I have a 2003 Jinma 284 I would think it would be plenty powerfull to do everything you would want it to do. Mine has the Jinma zl20 loader with the ranch hand controls it works great. I also have a Chinese 6" capacity wood chipper. it also works great.(I did lots of pine trees) I made a weight bar for the 3 point arms for when the loader is in use.(100 lbs+ of weight lifting barbells).And I did a lot of mods, an upgrades.I have turf tires on it.
The one you have in your picture looks a lot newer than mine.So I would guess 2007.being so new it probably is about the same price as a new one but with 50 hours on it many of the "bugs" may be worked out.
Not sure where you are but I'm in upstate New York.(Spencerport) You could always stop in and take it for a spin!.
I'd sell it but the wife says not to! (Now that's different) as I don't use it much anymore.
But she don't use me much anymore either (LOL)

I guess I'm in upstate upstate NY then. Up near the Canadian border near Plattsburgh. Thanks for the info. I think he's asking too much for the tractor. If it's within a couple thousand dollars, I think I would rather go with a new one that's prepped and serviced right.

I have an 05, and that one you pictured is a newer light style, so I would say it probably is an 07. What's he want for it, and how far away is it from you? Shipping something this heavy can be expensive. You might get a price break on a package deal of tractor/loader/ect to offset this shipping cost. The used one with a domestic loader like a Koyoker would probably be pretty good also, I guess it depends on how much they are asking for it.

A 284 should work well for you. It sure has for me. I have 7.5 acres in timber and pacific northwest jungle, that I am slowly clearing/parking. My 284 and a 5' brushhog is fantastic for this. Got a backhoe last year for stumps and a new house foundaton work, and am looking for a chipper now.

I have looked at your site, and a pretty good price, but the shipping to the Northwest makes it not such a good deal for me I think I have a line on one within driving distance though.

favarcat: Hi I live in Plattsburgh and just got a 2008 Jinma 284 crated tractor last month I got about 20 hr on it now.. come see it if you like,
call me 569-8327 ,, I got a grate deal on it...

If you can locate the model NO tag, (usually on the the inside of one of the rear fenders), it should give you the Model No and date of manufacture. The headlights are the same as my 454, which was purchased thru Rural King, they still have the same style headlights on the new ones, mine was manufactured Dec of 07.
