Hi everyone. This is my first post, so I apologize if I mess it up. :)

I was wondering if you could tell me whether this was a reasonable deal.

1996 LB1914 - 522 hours - Has LB102 FEL - Kelly BackHoe with 12" and 15" bucket. New battery. The BH has never been off and he says he never used the PTO. Manual transmission 8F/8R. He sayis 2WD and 4WD... Turf tires. He is the original owner. Asking $8,000.

What do you guys think? Anyone know what current tractors this is similar too?

Thanks in advance.

Effectively replaced by the Kioti CK20.

Is the backhoe frame or 3 pt. mount? If frame mount, then the price isn't bad. If 3 pt. mount, me, I wouldn't want it.

As a data point, last year when they were phasing out the 1914, Kioti was offering deals for tractor and loader at around $10K new (I think this is right).

Not sure what the backhoes are worth, but the last 1914 were sold with a kioti loader brand new for $9995. So depending on the backhoe value ???? I just don't know.

Using my Used Tractor Price Guide as the reference, a 12 year old LB1914 might go for $5 to $5.5k. So is the little backhoe worth $2.5 to $3k? Your call. Hope this helps.

For what it's worth, framemount backhoe well worth 2.5K in my book. Aftermarket, handbuilt would be well over $3K. Tractor loader and hoe (framemount) in good condition (500 hours just braking in for well maintained diesel) for $8k is very good deal. Key is how well was the tractor maintained, oil and filter change frequency on motor in particular.

A customer of mine sold a 1914 with KL102 and a 6.5 Woods subframe mounted hoe for 10k
It had 800hrs and was well used, it was well taken care of but not babied.
I'm not a Kelley Hoe fan but it's worth at least $1500-$2000

It is a frame mounted BH. It has been serviced by the local dealer since it was originally bouth from them 12 years ago. It has been stored inside all that time and appears to have been well taken care of but it certainly has been used.

My wife, who is interested and supportive of buying a CUT, is concerned about the gear transmission as she is not overly comfortable with them. Although HST would be nice, that would require looking at a new "used" machine or a new machine. Obviously the price differential would be substantial.

My main concern is I need something I can rough cut with. The owner said the BH has never been removed (He wasn't even sure how to do it) and nothing but hte BH and loader have been used on the machine. I am not familiar enough with it yet to know how involving (PIA factor and time) it would be remove the BH and get a rough cut mower attached.

I really appreciate all the feedback. I need to go visit it again and look it over some more.

I'm not familiar with how Kelly backhoe subframes are mounted. I have a Rhino backhoe/subframe on my DK 35. Very quick and easy to remove the backhoe. Takes less than 5 minutes to remove. The Kelly may have a similar setup.

I would not expect backhoe removal to be an issue. Does he have the three point arms? Those will be needed to hook up the rough cut.
